Welcome to BPS Weekly Newsletter - 15th May 2020

Dear Parents,

We hope all is well at home. School continues to remain open for key worker children at present.  Following the Governments announcement in relation to the school's possible reopening for some children on the 1st June, we will provide further updates as we have them. 


Parents/Carers of children attending breakfast and after school club from the 20th April will be billed fortnightly throughout the remainder of lock down. The school lunch system is being updated, but once its up and running parents/carers will be billed for school meals. If you are wanting advice, have any questions or need help logging into to the online learning platforms please don't hesitate to contact us. 

Parent/Carers of year 6 pupils looking to apply for for free school transport from September 2020 must have your application submitted by 31st May. To submit your application go to or call 0345 6789008 to speak to the councils customer service team, if you need a paper copy please contact us or Shropshire Council Passenger Transport team on

We are delighted to see so many pupils using The learning Platform with up to 70% of children using it in some classes, which is way above the national average across other schools of 34%!

Please phone the school on 01743 365211 by 10am each morning to request a packed lunch for your child/ren.  You will be able to collect these from 11.30am at the school gate.

Half Term w/c 25th May 2020


The school will remain open all week at Half Term for key worker children only.  Please can we make you aware that the kitchen will be closed, so children will need to bring with them a packed lunch.

The PD Day that was planned for the 1st June, will now be a normal school day.


Parenting Support  

 This can be a difficult and challenging time for parents, as a school you are welcome to contact us if required. You may alternatively may wish to contact the Parenting Team. 

The Parenting Team is continuing their service of telephone consultations. Parents and carers can simply call the office on 01743 250950 or email to arrange a consultation at a time convenient to them. Professionals can also contact the office and arrange appointments for parents/carers if they have gained their consent to pass on their telephone number.

Taking the current situation into account the parenting team can support parents and carers with:

  • · managing difficult questions and worries from children due to the current situation
  • · managing challenging behaviour which might be a result of the changes to their everyday lives
  • · maintaining good relationships with children during this time
  • · suggestions on activities to do with children
  • · talk through and reflect on the online course content with a Parenting Practitioner

The online Understanding Your Child courses are also still available:
