Screen Away Wednesday for Key Stage 2 Children

Thank you for all the support that you have given your children during this lockdown.  It has been lovely to see so many children (and parents!) taking part in the Friday Quiz. We have had some fantastic answers and Mr Davis has been especially pleased with all the advice given for his new dog!  We will continue to run the quiz for the foreseeable future.

We have been thinking of ways for the children to move away from screens, so we have come up with the idea of “Screen Away Wednesday”.  Every Wednesday we will try and plan activities to keep the Key Stage 2 children busy without using a computer.

We are, therefore, giving prior notice to what is planned for Wednesday 3rd February for the Key Stage 2 children:

Design a Board Game or Card Game for Key Stage 2 Children

Pupils will be expected to:

  1. Design/plan a game
  2. Produce instructions to play their game
  3. Make the game
  4. Play the game with family!

We will leave a large sheet of sugar paper and pencils under the bike shed from Thursday for those of you who require resources but children can be as imaginative as they like and use recycled boxes, paper, bottles etc!

Learn a New Skill Day - Wednesday 10th February

We would like the Key Stage 2 children to learn a new skill!  This could be learning how to juggle, origami, learning to play a musical instrument, skipping or even learning phrases in a new language!

Pupils will then be expected to:

  1. Learn a new skill
  2. Describe it
  3. Write about it
  4. Show the family!

Pupils will be able to upload all these tasks via the DB Primary platform
